Stewed apples for gut healing


Stewed apples is a really simple at home tip for gut healing and supporting your immune system.

The pectin found in the apple skin is released during the stewing process and can help maintain and repair the intestinal mucosa lining.

The recipe we use includes the following:

4 Granny Smith apples sliced (do not remove the skin)

1/4 cup of water

2 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger (optional)

Place on stove and reduce to a simmer once boiled, stirring occasionally until the apples soften. Drain any excess liquid. Serve warm or cold and store in fridge.
